Saguache County Health and Safety Event

Picture
The concept of the Health and Safety Event came from a suggestion from Valley-Wide Health Services who were interested in making stronger connections in the KV Estates. HEART of Saguache/KV hosted the event for the first time in 2018 at the KV Clubhouse as an outreach specifically for KV residents. It was later suggested that HEART should do a similar event in Saguache so that more people could participate and attend.
The event was held on October 19 on the Saguache County Courthouse lawn as a partnership with the Saguache Volunteer Fire Department and the Northern Saguache County Ambulance District made possible in part by a generous Saguache County Sales Tax Grant to Alpine Achievers Initiative.

The highlight of the event are the talks on Fire Prevention and First Aid Awareness. Those who attend and sign up for the talks receive a free fire extinguisher, smoke/carbon monoxide detector and first aid kit respectively. In addition a free lunch was served and a community resource fair was included giving all the non-profits and entities that provide services in the community to present information about themselves.
